Translations
Customize project-wide form interface and validation messages for each language
Translations controls the project-wide interface and validation messages used by the form engine. This includes common labels, instructions, errors, and question-type messages—not the question text authored inside an individual form.
Where to find it
- Open your project in the encatch dashboard.
- Go to Settings.
- Under Feedback Settings, select Translations.
Add a language
- Select Add language.
- Search for and select a language.
- Review the generated translation pack.
When a starter pack exists, Encatch prefills it. Otherwise, the new language starts from English so you can replace the text manually.
Edit translation fields
Select a language, then edit its messages by section. You can:
- Filter by question type or section.
- Search by field name, key, default text, or current translation.
- Edit individual messages while keeping supported template tokens intact.
- Reset a language to its starter translations.
- Remove a language that is no longer needed.
Auto-translate messages
Use the auto-translate action to translate all fields, visible fields, or selected fields into one or more enabled languages. Review AI-generated translations before publishing them.
Save drafts and publish
- Save draft keeps your changes in the editor without changing live forms.
- Publish saves the current draft and uploads a new translation file for the form engine. Live forms then begin using the published messages.
Fix any highlighted validation issues before saving or publishing.
Adding a language to this page prepares the shared form-engine messages. You still choose the languages used by each form in that form's language settings.
Permissions
Viewing translations requires feedback settings access. Editing drafts, auto-translating, and publishing require update access.
